Add an essay question
Other types: Multiple Choice, Ordering , T/F, Matching
This is the essay question that you would like to add:
Lines 186, 187, 188 ________________
Patient, full of importance, and grand in the pride of his instinct
Walking from side to side with a lordly air, and superbly
Waving his bushy tail and urging forward the stragglers
Note: The question would look better on three lines. In this case, use the html code <br> where you want a break. Similiarly, you can add <b> for bold, <u> to underline and </u> to finsih underlining, etc.
1. In the Control Panel's Manage Quizzes screen, find the quiz you want to add this essay question to. Here, you will find Evangeline (poem) by Henry Wad.. and click Essay to add this type of question.
2. On the Add Essay Question screen, fill in the fields:
- __Assoc. URL__ - If the question has a associated link, besides the text record page, add the web address here. Optional *
- __URL Info__ - Title the associated link (above). This is how the link will be displayed. Optional *
- __Objectives__ - What is the purpose of this question?
- __Instructions/Comments__ - Describe what the student should do to properly answer this essay question.
Ex: Identify who or what is being described in these selections.
- __Question__ - Enter your essay question here.
Ex: Lines 270, 271, 272 > "Over his shoulders; his forehead was high; and glasses with horn bows <br> sat aside on his nose, with a look of wisdom supernal."
- __Answer__ - Choose the length of the response you would like from the students:
- Long - Long answers will be accepted
- Short - limits the student's response to 250 words
- Line - limits the response to 250 characters
Ex: Because I am only looking for a really short answer, I clicked on the "line" button.
* Note: Any Optional field that is empty will NOT display the line on the public side.
3. After entering a question, you will have the option to:
- Add another question if you would like to enter another essay question right away
- Go to Manage Quizzes page
Things to keep in mind when adding a essay question:
- The question field has a limited length.
- You can also arrange the order that your questions will appear by clicking order and "up or down"
